
About the Nancy Curvin Playground Players
The Nancy Curvin Playground Players are jointly sponsored by GTG and Geneva Recreation Department. The players were founded in 1998, by the family and friends of Nancy Curvin, a past president of the Geneva Theatre Guild and an enthusiastic worker on Guild productions.
Each summer, two directors are hired to co-direct a small company of high school actors in a play to be performed for children and senior citizens. During mid July and early August, the Players present between ten and fifteen performances at area playgrounds, parks, daycare centers, and senior citizen centers. All performances are free and open to the public.
The goals of this program are:

To provide area children between five and ten years of age with easy access to theatre that is age-appropriate, entertaining, and artistically challenging;

To bring live theatre to senior citizens who may be unable to attend the theatre; and

To provide young adults (between 13 and 21 years of age) with an opportunity to extend their acting, directing, organizational and leadership skills.

About the Show:
Last Chance Tuesday is a short play by Patrcia Kenet. This heartwarming story follows a one-eyed dog named Fayo. His journey invites the audience to travel alongside him on his journey to find a forever home! Fayo must navigate the many challenges, emotions, and rewards that come with saying goodbye to old friends while making new ones along the way.
About the Job:
Each summer, a college-aged director and assistant director get to take artistic and creative ownership of producing a short play and get to direct a small company of actors who are currently enrolled in or who will be enrolled in high school during the following school year (approximately 13 to 18 years old). During mid-July and early August, the Players will present between ten (10) and fifteen (15) performances at area playgrounds, parks, daycare centers, and senior citizen centers. All performances are free and open to the public!
- This is a PAID opportunity and will be treated as such with regard to attendance and professionalism. Attendance at ALL performances is mandatory.
- Actors must have a flexible schedule.
- Transportation will be provided to and from the Geneva Recreation Center for all performances.
About the AUDITIONS!
Auditions will be held on June 2nd & 3rd from 3pm to 5pm
at the First United Methodist Church of Geneva (340 S Main St).
Parking is located behind on the church, off of Williams St.
Any actors who are currently enrolled in or who will be enrolled in high school during the 2025-2026 school year (approximately 13 to 18 years old) are welcome!
*no prepared monologues or prior acting experience is required*
