Little Shop of Horrors
(Broadway Version)
Book & Lyrics by Howard Ashman
Music by Alan Menken

This offbeat sci-fi horror/comedy rock musical features a score by legendary EGOT winner Alan Menken, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman. Based on the 1960 film of the same name directed by Roger Corman and written by Charles Griffith, the story follows meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn, who discovers a strange plant with an unusual appetite. In a romantic gesture, Seymour names the plant “Audrey II” after his co-worker and greatest love, Audrey. As the plant’s hunger grows—along with its twisted roots and vines— Seymour must navigate an increasingly dark journey of fame, fortune, and the plant’s disturbing demands. In the end, Seymour learns a valuable lesson: DON'T FEED THE PLANTS!
